China to create largest mega city in the world... →
China is planning to create the world’s biggest mega city by merging nine cities to create a metropolis twice the size of Wales with a population of 42 million.
This seems pretty innovative to me. It’s sort of like a smaller version of what Richard Florida calls a mega-region, but with a single governmental body and high speed rail connecting all the nodes. I read stuff like this and...

Study: Roads are safer in urban areas →
Driving slow is the only safe way to drive. Really surprised that DC is ranked safest, but I guess it has the least rural areas. Anecdotally, I’d say drivers in DC are really courteous, you just have to watch out for that occasional murderous suburbanite.
